Advanced Proposal Writing Workshop

October 23-24, 2008
Arlington, VA

Registration & Continental Breakfast: 8:00 am
Program Starts: 8:30 am
Wrap-Up: 4:00 pm

About this Workshop:

Advanced Proposal Writing is for both new and experienced grant writers and RFP bidders. This course covers beyond the basics and delves into what it takes to win big bucks in highly competitive grant or bid competitions. The course will focus on research (relevant validation of your project’s need and design methodology) and writing more complex proposal or bid narrative paragraphs/sections to help you reel in the money for your research and development needs. Dr. Bev Browning will lead this 1 and ½ day Internet and writing-driven course for participants seeking government funds or venture capital. Research it! Write it! Review it from a funder’s perspective!

Who Should Attend:

  • Corporate research and development grant or venture capital seekers (learn how to validate your needs and design methodology)
  • Corporate RFP bidders and writers (learn how to write more complex bid narratives and learn how to create RFP documents that don’t require multiple addendums to clarify missed points)
  • Non-profit grant writers (learn how to write beyond the basics and win the “hard to get” grant competitions)
  • Grantmaking agency RFP writers and readers (learn how to write RFPs from a grant writer’s perspective—make it clear and capture the information you want the first time)
  • Former students of Dr. Bev Browning’s online classes (connect one-on-one with your nationally known instructor and apply your online knowledge to classroom exercises)
  • Anyone who does not have a 90% or higher funding success rate in winning grants, cooperative agreements and contract

What should you bring with you to this dynamic session with Dr. Bev Browning?:

  1. Laptop computer (power strips will be supplied).
  2. Information on the project in need of funding.
  3. One copy of any grant proposal or bid you’ve written that has not been funded (Dr. Bev will look at your document and make recommendations on Day 2).
  4. Business cards to network with other participants!
